Beginning July 1, 2023, R-3 Residential, one-and two-family type VB dwelling shall be calculated at $85.00 per square foot and continuing until June 30, 2024. Beginning July 1, 2024, R-3 Residential, one- and two-family type VB dwelling shall be calculated using a 60% factor of the most current Building Valuation Data report. Please find the new schedule of fees under "Documents and Downloads" listed above.

Mission

Knox County Code Administration's mission is to protect the safety, health, welfare, and property of the citizens of Knox County. This is accomplished through administration, public education, and enforcement of building regulatory codes. Whereas, plan review, periodic inspections, and active enforcement of zoning regulations on new and existing construction are fundamental elements of our overall mission.

Permit Applications

The Knox Permit Portal is available to help you navigate Knox County's 24-hour permitting system. The digital process will help you set up an account and apply for construction permits. Once an account is created, you will need to log in, complete the required information and submit it. Please keep a record of your login information, as you will need it for future use.
