Yappy Hours

Join us for Yappy Hours and celebrate the astrological Dog Days each quarter! We will be at different dog park with food trucks, music, frozen dessert, and activities for you and your furry best friends.

  • Fee: FREE!

  • Park & Play Spring Break Tour

The KCPR Team is offering a free pop-up program to bring recreation, fitness fun, and art entertainment to your local park. Activities can include giant board games, scavenger hunts, arts & crafts, group games, athletic demonstrations, and so much more!

  • Fee: FREE!

  • Second Saturday Concert Series

Knox County is again hosting its Second Saturday Concert Series this summer as the Parks & Recreation Department will oversee live music at The Cove and Clayton Park. The free concerts are held from 6 to 8 p.m. June through August on the second Saturday of each month. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs, and food.

Outdoor Fitness Classes

Find new ways to get active in your park by participating in one (or all!) of our outdoor fitness classes this season. Instruction by certified professionals offer opportunities for beginners, seasoned participants, and any who need mobility modifications!

Salamander Search

East Tennessee is home to several different species of salamanders. Throughout the winter season is a great time to try and find the streamside salamander in the creeks of our parks! Be sure to wear waterproof boots for this 1-hour program/hike.

Nighttime Critter Crawl

Join naturalists at Collier Preserve for a self-guided evening stroll at the park. Stop by stations to learn about reptiles, amphibians, mammals, night insects, and more. Visit with the live program animals!

  • Location: Collier Preserve Park Registration

Jr. Naturalist Camp

This specialty camp is designed to promote awareness, understanding, and respect of our natural resources in Knox County and East Tennessee. Through experiential education and play in the natural world we are linking the natural history of Tennessee to recreational mediums such as games, art, research, and hands-on activities.
