Eligibility


  • Services are available for those who are without dental insurance. 
  • Patients must live in in Knox County.
  • The following documents must be presented at first appointment:
    • Proof of residency in Knox County
    • Proof of identity: photo ID
    • Proof of household income such as a W2, tax return, food stamp letter, social security, disability, unemployment, retirement, or your last 2 pay stubs.

Services

1. Diagnostic & Preventive

  • Examinations
  • Cleanings (2 visits per calendar year) 
  • X-Rays

3. Restorative Services

  • Dental fillings for children up to age 21

2. Miscellaneous Services

  • Fluoride Treatments
  • Sealants for children up to age 21
  • Silver Diamine Fluoride
  • Emergency Care (Relief of pain)

4. Oral Surgery Services

  • Extractions (pulling teeth) not including wisdom teeth
  • Minor pre-prosthetic surgery

Fees and Payment

  • Patient fees are determined using a sliding-scale based on annual income and household.
  • Fees range between $10 - $30 per visit. Please call the dental clinic to see if you qualify.
    • Cash, credit cards, and checks are accepted.

On the first Wednesday of every month, all KCHD offices and clinics are closed in the morning for staff in-service. On these days, the main location (140 Dameron Ave.) will open at 11 a.m. and the West Clinic (1028 Old Cedar Bluff) will open at 11:30 a.m.

Clinics will also open at 10:30 a.m. (Main location) and 11 a.m. (West Clinic) on the following Wednesdays: April 17 and July 17. All other offices will open at 8 a.m.
