Thank you for your interest in applying for Knox County Health Department internships. KCHD has a centralized application process. This will give you the opportunity to tell us about yourself and what you are looking for in an internship. Your input regarding your learning objectives is crucial in helping us pinpoint the best-suited opportunity for you. We will review all applications, and should your interests align with our needs, we'll be in touch regarding potential placement.

To apply, please complete the application form here: KCHD AHD Application.

What comes next:

  • When you submit your application, you will receive an email indicating your application was submitted.
  • Your application and uploaded documents (resume, cover letter, etc.) will be reviewed by the AHD Manager and other department leadership. They will make placements based on preceptor availability and alignment.
  • KCHD team members may interview (onsite, virtual or by phone) select intern candidates to discuss placement opportunity.
  • Individuals will be notified of acceptance or denial. Not all students can be accepted due to limited staff capacity or lack of match between student goals and organizational needs.
  • Students who are accepted will be required to complete additional paperwork that will be sent to the student via email by the AHD Manager.
