As of June 9, 2017 Knox County will no longer participate in the Qualifying Local Program. Starting June 12, 2017, any applicant seeking coverage under the state’s Construction General Permit will need to apply through the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC). Any developments in Knox County greater than or equal to 1 acre or sites that are part of a larger common plan of development now need two separate permits prior to land disturbance activities. Design plans and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) will still need to be submitted for review to the Knox County Stormwater Department. For more information, contact the Knox County Construction Services Department MORE INFO
