Criminal Court Clerk Mike Hammond, joined by the Mayors of Knox County and the City of Knoxville, launches the “Purple Out Day” campaign to benefit Alzheimer’s Tennessee. Mr. Hammond and his staff gathered with local leaders on August 31, 2015 to invite all citizens of Knox County to participate and support the work of Alzheimer’s Tennessee.  The Criminal Court Clerk’s office will be accepting donations between now and September 18th.  By proclamation of the Mayors of Knoxville and Knox County, “Purple Out Day” will be observed September 18th.  On that day, everyone is encouraged to wear purple to show solidarity with the individuals and families of those effected by Alzheimer’s disease.  The Criminal Court Clerk’s Office will be selling a variety of bracelets, buttons, lapel pins and more, that will show your support for “Purple Out Day” and benefit Alzheimer’s Tennessee.  These items are available at the Court Information Center on the main floor of the City-County Building.
