Since its inception, over 13,000 cases have been successfully expunged through the newly established Criminal Court expungement screening program. This new concept was the direct result of joint efforts between Knox County District Attorney General Charme Allen and Knox County Criminal Court Clerk Mike Hammond. Citizens who are seeking expungement of their criminal record are now able to receive direct assistance at the Knox County Expungement Courtroom. Deputy Court Clerks and the District Attorney’s staff are readily available to provide individualized assistance with the preparation and processing of expungement petitions. The Expungement Courtroom is available to the general public each week on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. in the Fourth Sessions Courtroom, located on the Main Floor of the City County Building.
