County Receives Half a Million from Criminal Court Clerk

Through the dedication and hard work of the his incredible staff, Criminal Court Clerk Mike Hammond presented another “Efficiency Dividend” check to Knox County at the May15th meeting of the  Knox County Commission. The check was in the amount of $500,000 and represents the transfer of excess fees from the Court Clerk's Office to the Knox County General Fund.  These funds have been nicknamed an “Efficiency Dividend” by the Court Clerk, because they accumulated due to the efficiency of operations and are being paid to the citizens (shareholders) of Knox County.  To date, $2,750,000 million dollars have been presented to Knox County by the Court Clerk's Office since the beginning or Mr. Hammond's administration.
