SmartWay is Tennessee’s intelligent transportation system which uses advanced information technologies to improve the safety and operation of highways and other transportation modes, such as public transit. There are several components of SmartWay.
Cameras provide live video surveillance to monitor freeway congestion and improve incident management. Dynamic Message Signs by freeways provide traffic and construction notification, as well as Amber Alerts.
