Description:
The CM shall furnish the work developed in the Construction Documents. This project will consist of a new construction of the Maloneyville jail pod expansion. The new facility will consist of 192-bed, two-story block/steel construction. The site work for the new pod was previously graded during the construction of the existing facility. During the construction of the existing facility conduits where installed to allow for the expansion of this new pad, which will insure proper connectivity for the administration and security of the pod. The administration in the existing facility was also designed and built to handle the additional administration area for this pod. The design of the pod will be very similar to the existing pods with some improvements being incorporated to allow for the incorporation of new technology.
Progress:
Proposals were received August 23 from six (6) construction managers. The selection committee selected Blaine Construction Corporation as the construction manager. The design of the facility will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2005 and PBA anticipates fifteen (15) months of construction.
