Dirty Lot Enforcement

Are you bothered by a messy neighbor? Is there a property in your neighborhood that you feel is an eyesore?

Knox County has a Dirty Lot Ordinance that can address these problems and more through our Codes Enforcement Office. To report a dirty lot, please contact us at 215-HELP or E-mail us at neighborhoods@knoxcounty.org.

Codes Procedures
1. Complaint received about a piece of property that may be in violation. ( See examples here)
2. Knox County Codes goes out to inspect property.
3. If property is in violation, notice is sent to property owner to clean within 30 days.
4. Property is re-inspected.
5. If property is still in violation, owner can be cited for violation of Dirty Lot Ordinance.
6. Property can be cleaned by Knox County EPW (cost billed to property owner)
