215-HELP

The Neighborhood Help Line operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This line will take all requests for information, referral and services related to government. This line also serves as a means of tracking requests throughout Knox County to ensure more proactive approaches to dealing with concerns.

Neighborhood Nights -
Meet your County Government

The Knox County Office of Neighborhoods periodically hosts a "Neighborhood Night" in a county commission district to better serve citizens in the community.

Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale and other elected officials along with representatives from Knox County Engineering & Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Community Services, Finance and more are on hand to answer questions and talk one on one with citizens.

Neighborhood Nights are generally held on Thursday nights at a Knox County Branch Library. Those wanting to meet with Mayor Ragsdale simply have to sign up upon arrival. The Mayor will meet constituents on a first-come basis.

Neighborhood Issues

The Knox County Office of Neighborhoods has assisted and will continue to advocate for addressing neighborhood concerns. ON has worked with neighborhoods, county commission and other stakeholders to develop new ordinances with regard to junk cars, stormwater runoff, litter, rezoning matters, etc. ON will continue to be an advocate for neighborhood concerns throughout all Knox County.

Reporting

The Office of Neighborhoods provides reports of constituent requests to Knox County Commission on a quarterly basis. All requests are tracked by their nature and are sorted by commission district.

Public Meetings

The Office of Neighborhoods assists each department with the planning, coordination, facilitation and follow-up of public meetings associated with the Knox County Mayor's Office and all departments.

Public Speaking Engagements

If a particular neighborhood requests a representative from Knox County to speak at a meeting, ON assists them in locating senior staff and department heads to talk about a variety of subjects.
