PUBLIC MEETING FOR PROPOSED CONCORD DOG PARK

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.—Knox County Parks and Recreation will hold a public open house to present and discuss plans for the Concord Dog Park on Tuesday, April 6, from 5 until 7 p.m., at the Clubhouse at Concord Marina, 10915 South Northshore Drive.

The new PetSafe Dog Park is being proposed on the site of the old Concord swimming pool. This will be the third of five dog parks that PetSafe has committed to help fund for parks in the community.  With lake access and separate areas for large and small dogs, this park will encompass over two acres.

Additional improvements to parking, restrooms and the Concord Par Three Golf Course are also a part of the planning process. These improvements will be phased in relative to available funding.

The public is invited to provide input on the proposed plans for the park.  Doug Bataille, Senior Director of Knox County Parks and Recreation and Terry Shupp, Knox County Parks and Greenways Coordinator, will be on hand to discuss the design.

For more information, please contact Knox County Parks and Recreation, 215-6607. Results of the meeting will be posted on Knox County Parks website at knoxcounty.orgparks. Comments may also be emailed to parks@knoxcounty.org.
