KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (June 14, 2017) - This morning, Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett joined other elected officials and representatives from the Knox County Stormwater and Parks & Recreation departments for the unveiling of a public mural on the Ten Mile Creek Greenway tunnel under N Gallaher View Road.

The mural, designed and painted by local artist Curtis Glover, illustrates the relationships of local stream ecosystems and serves as an educational tool to those who use the greenway. The design of the mural reflects a colorful stream scene with a myriad of fish, water bugs, amphibians, reptiles and plants. The species depicted in the mural are those living in and along the streams specific to East Tennessee.

The mural project hopes to raise public awareness of the importance of protecting and conserving our local creeks, streams and rivers, while also beautifying an otherwise blank wall.
