Students from Ft. Sanders School made decorations for tree
Knoxville, Tenn. (Dec. 17, 2010) — The Christmas Tree standing in Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett’s office was decorated today with ornaments that were handmade by students from the Fort Sanders School. The school holds a special place in the heart of Knox County’s first lady, Allison Burchett, who has set a goal of establishing a library for the school’s students to enjoy.
“The kids worked so hard making these ornaments, and it’s such a blessing to be able to display them here in the office,” Mrs. Burchett said. “I just want to thank the students, parents and the wonderful staff at Ft. Sanders for working to make this possible.”
“This was a good chance to show these children just how special they really are,” Mayor Burchett said.
The Ft. Sanders School serves about 100 preschool-aged students.
