This weekend, Knox County’s John Tarleton Park and Schumpert Park, along with several high school fields, will host the 7th Annual Battle in Rocky Top Youth Football Classic.
“We love football here in Knox County, and we’re excited to host such a popular football tournament,” said Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett. “This is an opportunity to showcase our Parks and Recreation facilities, and to encourage visitors to plan a future trip to Knox County by allowing them to experience all the restaurants, activities and local shops our community has to offer.”
The Battle in Rocky Top is one of the largest youth football tournaments in the country, and will bring 270 teams with players, coaches and parents from more than 20 states to Knox County.
The tournament will take place on Saturday, Nov. 17 and Sunday, Nov. 18. Age divisions in the tournament range from 6U (6 and under) to 15U (15 and under).
Battle in Rocky Top is open to the public. Admission is $8 on Saturday and $7 on Sunday. Weekend passes will be available for $12. Children 5 and under get free admission.
