Restaurant Inspections
Feb. 2011 -- Knox County Health Department has received reports from local restaurants about an individual posing as a restaurant inspector contacting them.
KCHD would like to remind the public that:
- Restaurants are not notified in advance about public health inspections
- KCHD inspectors carry ID
- KCHD inspectors will NOT ask for money
Posing as a restaurant inspector appears to be an attempt to extort money and has been attempted in other areas, including Nashville. Business owners are advised to call the police if an inspector cannot present proper identification documents.
TIP FOR SEARCHING RESTAURANT SCORES:
The LESS information entered into the blanks is usually better for getting results. You can actually just enter the city or the zip code and peruse the results.
