Preparedness Planning

Deaf and Hearing Impaired

Whether you are Deaf, Hard of Hearing or Latent Deaf, there are specific things that you need to consider as you prepare for disaster. This guide will help you start thinking of the steps needed and help prepare you for a disaster.

Childcare Facilities

The Knox County Health Department, Office of Emergency Preparedness and local daycare centers recognize that emergencies can arise at any time. The intent of this plan is to assist the childcare centers in our community and help them be able to respond to an emergency that may arise in their center.

Preparedness for the Family

Preparedness for the family is a calendar geared to help you come up with a supply kit for you and your family. These tools will give you the basics you might need to take care of your family in the event of a emergency.

Disaster Preparedness for Seniors by Seniors

This information was taken from a brochure created by a group of older adults who experienced a two week power outage when a massive ice storm hit. The group was unprepared for such a disaster and emerged from their situation dedicated to researching and discussing disaster preparedness information for senior citizens. This document contains the results of their findings.
