Obtaining an investigation report

Directions for Obtaining an investigation report for a fire that has taken place in Knox County.

Have the date and location of the fire. The Knox County Fire Investigation Unit only makes reports that the fire departments in the county respond to and conducts or requests an investigator.

Once a request is made it will take at least one working day for the report to be ready. The investigator needs to be in the office to print and sign the report. No other investigator can release another investigator’s report.

There is a Five dollar ($5.00)  fee for each fire report. This fee is payable to the Knox County Fire Prevention Bureau.
