Interested in Serving as an Election Official?

We need your help. Election officials are an important part of the electoral process and we need the help of concerned citizens (like you!) to run honest elections.

It takes hundreds of folks to run an election in nearly one-hundred polling places across Knox County. Election officials are paid - both for working on Election Day and for training classes. New election officials must meet the following requirements:

  • Registered to vote in Knox County
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and be able to understand and follow written instructions
  • Willing to work 14 hours on Election Day and attend training classes before each election

Government employees (Federal, state, city, or county) cannot serve as election officials, nor may employees of KUB, CAC, or ORNL. School teachers and employees of higher education may serve.
