Journey to the Past with Charles Mason, Jeremiah Dixon and Thom Mason

Mason

Thom Mason, Oak Ridge National Laboratory Director, is speeding through the Summer Reading Challenge.  Having already completed Generation Kill by Evan Wright and The War Within by Bob Woodward, he’s now reading Mason & Dixon by Thomas Pynchon.  Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon were the British surveyors best remembered for running the boundary between Pennsylvania and Maryland that we know today as the Mason-Dixon Line.  Mason & Dixon is their story as re-imagined by Pynchon, featuring Native Americans and frontier folk, ripped bodices, naval warfare and political. Come discover pre-revolutionary America in this complex, but comical, novel.  Let us know what you think or tell us what you're reading by logging onto Knox County Happenings
