Read With Me Spokespersons

Bill and Wanda Williams are heading up this year's volunteer recruitment effort to put readers in all Knox County 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade classes. For the seventh year, Read With Me program volunteers will go into classrooms once a week to support reading programs. serving as our spokespersons for this year's recruitment drive. Both of the Williams have been Read With me volunteers for several years and encourage everyone who can spare an hour a week to become a reading volunteer.

Bill underscored the value that the volunteer readers bring to our children, "If a child learns to read and develops a love for reading, the possibilities are limitless as to what he or she can do."  He noted that the experience has rewards for the volunteer as well, "Read With Me is an absolutely delightful way to spend time with appreciative children, and soak up some of their enthusiasm.  There is nothing more rewarding than a class-full of smiling kids welcoming you back to bring them a new story."
