County Officials Installed; Central High Choir Performs Anthem

Senior members of the Central High School choir were appreciated with thunderous applause both before and after they sang the Star Spangled Banner for County and State officials gathered to install elected officials on Friday.  Bailey Stipes, Tara Coram, Hunter Baird and Josh Archer (pictured right) represented the Bobcat Company Belcanto and Select Choraliers, directed by Beckye Thomas.  Both County Mayor Mike Ragsdale and School Superintendent James McIntyre participated in the ceremony.

Eight County Commissioners and five other elected County officials were sworn in, along with Criminal Court Judge Bob McGee.  County Commissioners installed this morning were:  Sam McKenzie, Amy Broyles, Finbarr Saunders, Ed Shouse, Richard Briggs, Brad Anders, Dave Wright, and Mike Brown.  A list of the full County Commission can be found on the Commission section of the Knox County website.

Other officials sworn in at this morning's ceremony were:  Bill Lockett, Law Director; Foster Arnett, Jr., County Clerk;  J.J. Jones, Sheriff; Sherry Witt, Register of Deeds; Fred Sisk, Trustee; and Phil Ballard, Property Assessor.
