  • The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is inviting applications for the Local Initiative Funding Partners program, a partnership program between the foundation and local grantmakers to fund projects that significantly improve the health of vulnerable people in their communities.   • The Staples Foundation for Learning awards grants of up to $25,000 to national and local charities that provide educational opportunities and job skills for all people, with a special emphasis on disadvantaged youth.   • The National Gardening Association has announced its Healthy Sprouts Awards. The awards support school and youth garden programs that teach about nutrition and the issue of hunger in the United States. Twenty schools or organizations will receive gift certificates toward the purchase of gardening materials, with the top five each receiving a certificate valued at $500, and 15 more receiving gift certificates valued at $200.   • Google invites applications for its Google Grants program. Designed for nonprofit organizations, Google Grants is a unique in-kind advertising program that harnesses the power of Google's flagship advertising product, Google AdWords, to nonprofits seeking to inform and engage their constituents online. Google Grant recipients use their award of free AdWords advertising on Google.com to raise awareness and increase traffic. Each organization awarded a Google Grant receives at least three months of in-kind advertising. Applications are accepted every quarter. Additional information may be found at www.google.com/grants/

  • Creative Capital, a New York City-based nonprofit organization, acts as a catalyst for the development of adventurous and imaginative ideas by supporting artists who pursue innovation in form and/or content in the performing and visual arts, film and video, and in emerging fields

  • The Bowerman Track Renovation Program, a philanthropic initiative of Nike, Inc., provides matching grants of up to $50,000 to community-based, youth-oriented nonprofit organizations to refurbish or construct running tracks.   • The Department of the Treasury's CDFI program is awarding 75 grants of up to $2 million for financial and technical assistance to improve low-income communities through economic development, affordable housing, and other community development financial services. The application deadline is Feb. 13. More information is available on the CDFI Fund website.

  • Grants.gov allows organizations to electronically find and apply for more than $400 billion in Federal grants.
