Knox County Tennesee

John Schmid was elected to Seat A for the Fourth District of the Knox County Commission in August 1998, running on the Republican ticket.  He was reelected in 2002 without opposition in either the primary or general elections.

Commissioner Schmid represents the southwest part of the county, which includes Sequoyah Hills, Westview, Riverbend, Rocky Hill, as well as part of West Hills, Kingston Woods, Westmoreland and other areas in the 37919 and 37909 zip codes.

Commissioner Schmid recently earned his Master's Degree from the University of Tennessee and now teaches at Austin East Magnet School. Commissioner Schmid is also the co-owner of Schmid Realty Company with his father.

John Schmid is an outdoor enthusiast and has enjoyed volunteering as a youth baseball coach at Lakeshore Park for the last nine years.

Commissioner Schmid serves on the Finance Committee and is the Vice Chairman of the Knox County Beer Board.
