Jury Term : Jury Panels are summoned by the Chancellors and oriented twice a year by the Clerk and Master and are subject to being called for service during an approximate 6-(six) month period by notice sent approximately 2-(two) weeks before each trial for which a jury is needed. Panels do not serve for a specific weekly period; rather, they are called as needed. Jurors should arrive for jury service at 8:30 a.m. by reporting to the Clerk and Master’s Counter on the First Floor of the City County Building. Jurors should arrive for jury orientation by 8:00 a.m. in the large assembly room at the front entrance of the City County Main Street Entrance. Letters of Instruction setting further the procedures for orientation and service are mailed to each juror and provide all necessary information are sent with respect to assigned to panels and for instructions to report.

Parking: Jurors are encouraged to park in the Dwight Kessel Parking Garage at Hill and State Street. The Dwight Kessel Garage charges $5.00 per day for parking. Jurors will be reimbursed $5.00 per day for parking. (Click Map)
Juror Fees: Jurors are paid $11.00 each day that they report for jury service. The jurors are not compensated for attendance at the required orientations. Jurors are given a County Warrant for jury service which can be cashed at the County Trustee’s Office. A certificate of attendance is available to employers and can be obtained form the Clerk’s office.
Final Reporting Instructions: After 4:30 p.m. on the day before jury panels are to report for service for a particular case, the jurors must call for final jury instructions for the next day’s trial. Make sure to make this call to ensure final instructions are received as the case may have been settled or continued after receipt of instruction to report.
